OneCNC Series Updates

This is a history of all OneCNC updates.

You may notice sometimes there can be a jump in version numbers.

This is due to intensive and continual internal testing where we thoroughly test versions before releasing proven functional updates.

OneCNCXR4 21.34

OneCNCXR4 Lathe Version

There was an adjustment to the tool change dialog of the turning tool paths so that when a tool is imported from the tool library the offset number will correspond to the tool number.

OneCNCXR4 Mill Version

There was an adjustment to the vertical 3D ramp entry and exit of the HS Z level tool paths.

The vertical 3D arc style entry to the tool path is now ramp feed.
The 3D vertical arc style exit from the tool path is now high feed.

OneCNCXR4 Lathe Version

There is a change in the OneCNCXR4 Lathe Professional and Express version lathe tool change setting. The drop down box for tool selection was changed to direct entry and logic added to prevent users that may tab through while in edit mode changing the offset number. This also now assists the multi axis lathe tool numbering system of some machines. OneCNC Lathe tool change automation sets the offset number the same as the tool number and it is only changed if it is changed by the user.

OneCNCXR4 Lathe Express C axis and OneCNCXR4 Lathe Professional have been updated in the HS pocketing to the similar functionality as the OneCNCXR4 mill versions. Micro lift ramp exit lift is now at high feed (was previously ramp plunge rate feed) Micro lift ramp entry feed is not changed and remains at ramp feed (plunge rate feed).Ramp (plunge feed rate) is used as a control facility for feed entry rather than the usual plunge being 50% of feed which the user can control. This is easily set by typing in a % included such as (120%) entered in the ramp rate by entering into the plunge rate value.

OneCNC dimensions have been corrected to fix moving the text of the dimension caused the whole dimension to move.

OneCNCXR4 Mill Versions

There is a change in the HS pocketing and HS roughing.

We had received many requests for even more and greater optimum speeds for HS pocket and HS roughing.

With further development and testing we have found ways to assist this with added speed performance for both the HS pocketing and HS SMT roughing machining strategies. These new adjustments are a further refinement to allow this higher optimized machining times.

We now do the following if high feed is tagged and used in both HS pocket and HS roughing:

Micro lift ramp exit lift is now at high feed (was previously ramp plunge rate feed)
Micro lift ramp entry feed is not changed and remains at ramp feed (plunge rate feed).

As a guide to the tests that we currently use for optimized settings are:

Depth of cut = tool diameter x 2 ( up to tool diameter x 2.5)
Helix angle 1 to 1.5 degrees (this is the plunge rate feed)
Ramp feed (plunge rate feed) or entry feed speed up to 120% of actual feed speed.
Step over (engagement) 15% -20% of tool diameter

Our test results have shown that we have no problem maintaining ramp (feed speed rate ) at greater than feed speed on both micro lift entry and helix entry. This is due to the shallow depth of cut compared to depth of cut of the helix entry and ramp entry.

Ramp (plunge feed rate) is used as a control facility for feed entry rather than the usual plunge being 50% of feed. This is easily set by typing in a % included such as (120%) entered in the ramp rate by entering into the plunge rate value.

We prefer to use a high feed of (2x feed speed) depending on the machine ability to minimise acceleration deceleration variation loads on some machines although on many machines this can be far greater feed.

This new optimized functionality is included in the OneCNCXR4 mill versions 21.31+

OneCNCXR4 Lathe
There is a new post included in the OneCNCXR4 MM lathe install "Haas Mill Turn CY" which has been configured for the new released Haas C+Y axis Lathe.

OneCNCXR4 All Versions
The light source was adjusted for when it is in CAD view.
The rotate function "around line" was adjusted because some situations it rotated around X Y Zero instead of the line. This also applied to rotate model as well.
